Prom Dress (2023)

Materials used
Rayon, polyester, feather boning

Objective
The following project is a personal project. Rather than simply just buying a dress, I wanted to make my own, where I could really tailor it to my body for the perfect fit. Not only that, I was able to exercise complete creative freedom with how my dress looked, rather than having to settle for a pre-made design. With no prior sewing machine knowledge, I taught myself how to use the sewing machine, and within a few days, I was making the first iteration of the dress before making the final dress for prom.

The Process
1.25 in. long sewing pins were used to hold the lining, shell, and zipper during the sewing of the skirt. Binder clips were used to hold the lining and the shell together. Binder clips were used during sewing for the whole dress; this was during the process of making the bodice.
